1.  The first Pennsylvania State Capitol Taxpayers’ Protest was held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.

Pennsylvania taxpayers rallied together, from around the state, to protest BIG government and the tremendous tax burden that we all face in the Commonwealth.

Speakers included: Al Bienstock, Citizens Against Higher Taxes; Josh Culling, National Taxpayers’ Union; R.J. Harris, WHP 580; Patrick Gleason, Americans for Tax Reform; Kevin Shivers, NFIB; David Taylor, Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association; Susan Staub, Right to Work; Matthew Brouillette, Commonwealth Foundation; Jeffrey Trimbath, The Heritage Foundation; Colin Hanna, Let Freedom Ring and many others.

By visiting the “Legislators Standing for Taxpayers” tab, you can view a list of legislators that supported the protest and Pennsylvania taxpayers.

2.     On June 23, 2009, a week from the budget deadline, State Representative Daryl Metcalfe and several other House Republican lawmakers gathered to introduce the second phase of the State Capitol Taxpayers’ Protest, which was the Post-It Campaign.

Pennsylvania taxpayers that were unable to participate on June 9, 2009 or to contact their legislator during office hours were encouraged to visit their respective legislator’s office before or after work, on the weekends, or whenever they had time, to leave THEIR legislator a Post-It message stating exactly what they wanted from their employee: NO TAX INCREASES!

 3.     On September 29, 2009, approximately 3 months after a state budget should have been passed a Pennsylvania’s Most Wanted list was posted to the website.

This list included 10 Blue Dog Democrats that Pennsylvania taxpayers were asked to contact, demanding they put taxpayers first.
