On June 23, 2009, a week from the budget deadline,
State Representative Daryl Metcalfe and several other House Republican
lawmakers gathered to introduce the second phase of the State Capitol
Taxpayers’ Protest, which was the Post-It Campaign. Pennsylvania
taxpayers that were unable to participate on June 9, 2009 or to contact
their legislator during office hours were encouraged to visit their
respective legislator’s office before or after work, on the weekends, or
whenever they had time, to leave THEIR legislator a Post-It message
stating exactly what they wanted from
their employee: NO TAX
INCREASES!
This list included 10 Blue Dog Democrats that
Pennsylvania taxpayers were asked to contact, demanding they put
taxpayers first.
